you have your baby?
I have been really down and dumpy lately. Nothing excites me anymore, and I feel like I am neglecting my ds emotionally and attentively. I just can't seem to find any joy in anything. Any advice?

I felt the same way before I had my last one. It is normal. I would talk to my doctor about it and see if there is anything he can do for you. Hope you get to feeling better!

Sweetie, it is not POST...cause that comes after the baby..but you can definitely just have DEPRESSION during a pregnancy. Talk to your dr. I took Prozac with my last pregnancy. I just couldn't handle life...without MAJOR tears all the time. You have had a rough time lately....and I am not suprised at all to hear you feeling this way. You take care of YOU first, and then you can work on taking care of others!!

Grrr.....give me a break. As my ob put it..."the few brain cells or millions that MAY or may NOT be effected are not worth what he/she is loosing by his/her mommy feeling like this" I have super smart, gorgeous kids..and that Prozac is what kept me SANE. I would talk to her again. Let her know how bad it is...she may think you can handle it on your own when you can't. Also, I do know that when you feel like this during pregnancy, POST PARTUM DEPRESSION is way more likely!

I think another "downer" is that I HAVE to have another csection.. I feel like "less of a woman" because I can't. Ds was too big and I had an emergency section. She flat out told me Friday that I would be having another csection.

A baby is a baby is a baby...and most importantly, this is YOUR baby...your HEALTHY baby...being born to a HEALTHY mommy!!! Chin up...C-sections are better than risking problems.

Hang in there! Some women opt for C-sections if their dr allows them. Think on the bright side--you'll probably know exactly when you'll have the baby. No very inconvenient surprises! You can actually make plans--childcare for DS etc. Plus you won't have to be pushing for hours. Doesn't sound so bad to me--I love the whole being able to plan part!

I think the term is called antepartum depression. I had it with my 2nd child and was on zoloft from month 2 until birth (and after!). Like someone else said, with all the stress you've been under it's no surprise your feeling like this. I also got several different doctor opinions before starting on the zoloft (even went to a psychatrist). Please talk to your doctor again - you could really be in for some major postpartum depression if you don't get help now.
Feel free to PM if you want - I've been to h&ll and back with antepartum and postpartum depression ( X 2). If I can prevent anyone from going thru what I did - I will!

Take care!
