I have a TON of babies clothes. What is the easiest way to do a yard sale with them but still having it look nice and get some good $$ for the stuff? All the other items are easy to place, but I have so much clothing. I thought about doing a $3 box, $5 box and so on but then it's going to get all rummaged thru and look like a big mess. Should I hang my nicer 3 piece outfits that I want a little more $$ for? I want to get my money's worth so if it takes more work to get ready I'm fine with doing it. I have 2 wks. Any tips would be great. I've never done one before!

I have never had much luck with yard sales. I think the best thing is to make most things one price - usualy 50 cents is the "hot" price around here. Keep all those in one place. The, for your nicer outfits, hang them and tag them separately. Just make sure the price is clear so there is no confusion that those outfits aren't 50c!!

Good luck!!

I have also sold my nice outfits for 2 to 3 bucks and did real well . Hang them so they are seen first. Sleepers and onsies .50 is a good price. shoes in EUC you can get a couple bucks a peice for. This time of year around here not many yardsale out so I usally dont bother. I wish you lived around here I miss yardsales in the winter

Arizona's summer sales don't do well at all in 115 degree's!! We are in the 80's now so we're getting chilly and turning on our heaters (just kidding!)LOL!

AZ.twinmom: Are you sure you're kidding? I've actually been thinking of turning on my heat at night - the mornings are chilly! Today was so perfect, though. Had dd out in her stroller in an older part of the town. Gorgeous!

Hang the nice things and seperate the rest in piles by their size and make them all one price. I know 50 cents doesnt sound like much but you will sell more and the idea wiht things like that is to sell in volume. Im alway looking for kids clothes at yard sales and I buy more when they are sorted by size becuase I dont have to spend 20 min. digging. The higher priced clothes with sell better if they are clean and wrinkle free, Make them look newer.

I would either donate to GW, OR send off to the CS. That always worked out better for me than anything else with the little sizes.

Hang your nicer stuff first and mark it a couple of bucks. Sort clothes by size that way when people come they don't have to dig for the sizes and that way they will buy more in less time make sure some how to mark where sizes are. I've found that the more things I hang the better things sell it's easier for people to shop and it stays looking nicer. Here I mark onesies .25 to .50, sleepers $1-2, and outfits $2-4, socks I nicely put in ziplock baggies by size and then I fiqure .25 per set of socks. For example 8 pr of socks for $2. I also do that for tights. The nicer you make your rummage sale look I found the more that I make.

If you do have a lot of nicer things that you would like to get $3-$5 I would suggest selling them to a Childrens Resale Shop or seeking a Consignment Shop. I buy a lot of nice things at those type places. We have several Childrens Resale shops in my area and I always take my items there when my noys have outgrown them. They also take toys, cribs, strollers, anything to do with a baby or child!! I shop a lot of yard sales too and, honestly, I skip over the $3-$5 & up items. But, I am more apt to buy them a Resale Shop, I don't know why. Just do.
