Default Christmas Trees: Real or Artificial?

It's totally artificial for me. While I loved the whole getting the family together and going out to cut one on the farm when I was a kid, I like the convenience of an artificial tree as an adult. I don't like the smell of pine or cedar closed up in the house, I don't like the mess and I don't like the maintenance of a real tree.

How about you?

I've only had a real tree once and that is because we were doing some construction in the house and our artifical tree was in storage. My artifical tree sheds enough needles for me - I don't want the worry of a real tree...I like to leave my lights on for long hours...and with a real tree I would be nervous!

I have a fake tree, but I prefer the old fashioned real one. IT smells wonderful and it looks pretty but they are too much work in florida. For starters we have to buy not cut one, it gets very dry fast and you have to put water on it every day. Too much work for me.

Ever since we have been married (8 years now) we have gotten real ones. I would not mind though getting artifical one and maybe use that for a few years then switch off. I like real trees, but hate spending the $$ on it every year. My DH though is a real tree guy all of the way!!!

Amen! Our first and foremost reasoning is the allergy issue.

I love real trees, but my favorite tree is the Noble Fir which is expensive. For the last few years, we've had an artificial one. I like artificial trees because they can stay up longer and there's no mess!

Growing up we always had an artificial tree so once I got married I decided I wanted a real tree. I think I am the only one who enjoys going out to cut down a tree. My kids could care less if the tree is real or not, they only enjoy decorating it so after christmas I am going to look for a good deal on an artifical tree that looks real.
