I'm wanting to get dh sattelite radio for Christmas. Most people I talk to tell me to get Sirus so I'm leaning in that direction. NOW the bigger question is, which reciever should I get? I don't want to spend alot. Whats the diffrence between them all?? He will most likely use it to listen to sports radio, HOward STern, and the rock stations he can't get anywhere else. Any recommendations?

My hubby is getting that for christmas we bought the receiver for $50 at Best Buy on BF. It was regularly $150? I think.

I don't know the difference my hubby researched and desided based on the fact that S has his TN Volunteers football games I know great reason! LOL

Dh has sirius and claims he couldnt live without it. Its no-talk music stations, gotta love that. DH got it for that reason, for the sports and for Stern. He loves it. Personally, I love the Hair-band station!! :-)

we have the sirus and its fine. personally, to me its like cable tv. you pay for a million stations and "nothings on"

my hub winds up listening to just 3 shows on there - tiffany granath on playboy advice from 1-5pm is his favorite!

my biggest pet peeve is that its DANGEROUS - literally. i mean its yet another distraction and unlike the radio you have to really look at all thecatagories and selections you're in. thats one thing i dont like about satellite - unless again you're only going to a few regular stations. if you're channel surfing, then yes i feel its dangerous!

since my hub travels the state of pa for his job this radio is necessary to keep him from going loopy!

Thanks for the advice all! I guess I can go with the cheaper model and he can still get his talk free rock and roll, and his sports stations. My dh travels all over CT and RI for work and loses alot of stations. I thought he would really enjoy this so he could listen even when he has to drive out into the boonies. I get paid tommorrow, so I can go check that out then.
