I have a ton of childrens clothing that I want to get out of my house. Listing on ebay takes a lot of time and there isn't a guarantee that it will sell. The brick and mortar stores are having such great prices on winter clothing right now. Having said that I could really use the money I *might* make on ebay. We are trying to pay down debt & I spent a good deal on the clothing in the 1st place.

OR Should I just donate the clothing to charity and use it as a tax write-off, get it out of my house and feel good that it might go to someone who might not otherwise afford the clothing.

A yard sale might be good but it's really too cold now & they are such a hassle.

What would you do?

Take the clothes to a Consignment shop!! I have made a pretty decent money at my local CS, I usually spend it on different clothes in the shop, but with a growning boy(5 y.o.) it is well worth it for me, I have also gotten some nice stuff for myself and Dh. Then, whatever the shop won't take, donate it to charity, thats what I did too.

If a second hand shop or consignment is an option then I'd go that route. I like ebay money but it is so time consuming to do. On the other hand if it is name brand it might be worth it. I would research the brands you want to sell and see how they are doing

If it's gymboree, it's worth it to eBay. If it's other quality clothes then you can consign it, but it would take awhile to get your money. If not, then donate it just in time for tax season!

Try bartering on here, too. I have made some excellent trades and also had several pay with gift cards/paypal. I LOVE working with other moms on the board, giving them what they need and in turn getting what I need!

I would try the consignment route too. Also, you might want to check, but I don't think you can write off donations like that to charity off anymore.
