Our dining room!!! We have lived in the house for five years and just recently (in the last four months or so) made it a dining room. Before that it was a playroom.

We had my inlaws and grandmother in law over for dinner before she went back to Ohio Tuesday. (It was her birthday and today was fil's.) With five adults and three children I didn't think we would fit too comfortably at our farmhouse type table in the kitchen so it motivated me to get the clothes I have been sorting, my scrapbooking stuff, etc. cleaned up!

Now I have to figure out how to decorate that room. There are now no pictures on the wall and they are beige. I did buy an area rug, but that is it.

~Happiness is a large family~

Typical. My mil was in a mood. She was angry at something. Dh thinks she is tired of HER mil being here and wants her to leave. She always told me how much she loves the woman, but she sure has wanted her gone from the minute she got here this trip. Now she knows how I feel.

I got sort of ticked because, well, NOBODY offered to help me!!! I mean, I was entertaining kids, cooking dinner, setting the table, EVERYTHING! Dh helped get ready by cleaning before they got there, which helped, but then his football game came on and he was oblivious. Mil and fil just sat there like their butts were molded to the couch! I was sort of angry and made the comment at dinner when they complained about something (it was not my best meal, unfortunately) that it wasn't like I had any help in the kitchen! They shut up after that.

I hate it when there is a houseful of people, and no one will help! It drives me nuts! I'm happy for you about your dining room though! That's great.

That would bother me too. Even though I like being the hostess with the mostest I still would appreciate a pair of helpful hands, you know what I mean? (of course you do!!)

Glad you have your dining room!!! I love mine and know how helpful it is to have it when we have several people there.

I don't blame you one bit for being ticked that no one helped you. That totally irritates me when people could help, and I need a little help, and no one offers. Luckily, Matthew and my parents always do what they can to lend aid, but my mil would not make an offer to lift a finger. Grrrr.
