How would you react if you were opening gifts in front of everyone and someone gave you a personal gift..like lingerie, a "toy" underwear..etc?

I've learned that you never open the box completely...hopefully it's wrapped in another box...but always open the lid away from you so it's blocking the view to everyone else and then look - if it's safe - take it out - if not, you quietly close the box up and put it down next to you...

It's very embarrassing to have happen...

I wish I would have thought of that momof4. Like newlywed I was so embarrased when I opened some gifts during our wedding shower. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was only women but it was a shower for both of us.

I've posted about this before under our "worst gifts" posts.

My male boss gave me a sexy short, red silk nightgown as a Christmas present from the group of guys (yes, GUYS) I worked for! The boss's wife worked at Fredricks of Hollywood, so I guess the boss let the wife do the shopping (and use her employee discount). Although I sat there smiling politely, I wanted to crawl under the conference room table and die from embarassment. It was the talk of the company for months.

I never had this happen. But I do remember a co-worker got a victorias secret gift card from a sales guy in Florida, the lady is in her 50's and the guy is probably about 40.
So the talk around work was if the lady was going to send him pics of herself modeling the items she got with the gift card...lol

Guess it also depends on the party situation on what items you got and was opening in front of people, say youre having a bachlorette party...dirty items are expected.
But if its Christmas those items should be opened privately (not that Ive ever gotten any "dirty" items for Christmas before. But I definately dont give them as gifts.

I would probably be bright red and try to play it off - but inside I would be upset. Not to crazy about being embarassed.

Me being me...I'd laugh! What is the circumstance? Like Alex's mommy said...Bachlorette and bridal showers it's a given that someone will get you something questionable.

Thankfully the only time someone gave me a gift like that they gave it to me in private otherwise I would have been embarassed.

i'd be upset if it was a room full of family or mixed genders. if it was just the girls, i would laugh it off. in my group of girl friends that kind of thing is expected lol.
