I'm always honest...and not be snarky, but I don't really care what others think. LOL! Do I always agree with what some people do with their own kids? Well, of course not! Everyone is different, but I'm sure there are folks that don't agree with the way I do things in my home. Different strokes for different folks. It's a message board...I enjoy it here BECAUSE of the different opinions/ideas.

What a funny thread. I love how everyone is confessing their candy and tv habits. I'm always honest on here. I am another one that believes in everything in moderation. My kids are happy and healthy and fit and smart, even with all the tv and candy and coke in their lives.

Same with DS... He's not used to the bubbles yet! (Which I am thankful for!)

I'm always honest when I answer but if the thread has a holier'than'thou tone to it, I leave it alone.

I am honest when I answer. My kids do drink some soda and they watch more TV than they should but I don't have them in their rooms. They also eat some type of candy or ccokies every day. I am far from perfect and I know it but my kids are all happy and healthy.

But some of the threads lately. Are they all honest?

I mean, no one's kids have tv's in there rooms.... Yet the average child watches over 5 hours a day.

No one gives there child a sip of soda pop.... Yet obesity is on the rise....

No one seems to feed their child their halloween candy...

Is it just that we MS gals are more informed about these things and are sorta a core group?
My kids don't have TVs in their rooms, no way, no how.

Soda...they get one can on the weekend.

Halloween candy all goes in a big pretzel jug. They can have 2 pcs after dinner. I figure if I let them have it they won't feel the need to sneak it or gorge on it.

As for honestly, with me, and some of you have known me for 8 years+, I tend to tell it like I see it!

I am honest to a fault and have had people take it the wrong way or read way too much into the post (meaning they read things that weren't there or never happened.. they just assumed...). I am not going to change my habits though because I am afraid of what others think. We all have things we think are unacceptable and everyone's list is going to be different....
That said:
TV's in kids room. Mine don't have them. Pediatrician told me not to, but that's not the reason why. I just don't have the $ to buy them one. They watch TV in the basement (kid hangout) or in the livingroom.
Pop- once on the weekend they get pop, but my middle boy won't drink it (health nut). For the college boy, I actually give him pop to take back with him to college. He's an adult, so if pop is the worse thing he get's into then that is pretty good.
Halloween candy- of course they eat it all!!
I am way less concerned about how much candy & TV my kids get than about their core values (respecting others, being considerate, etc)!!!!
