sleep # bed? They are pretty expensive new, and there are a few on craigslist for a ton cheaper.

I am just all itchy about getting a used bed.... I know the outside stuff can be washed, correct?

I'd do the research via consumer reports on the history of those beds, if I'm remembering correctly they've had issues...

But yeah, I would, if it was clean and had been properly fumigated - if you call a used furniture place you could probably pay to have it 'treated'. I know that most used furniture places have to treat it (by law) with some sort of chemical to clean it before they can sell it.

that's what I thought, there were some molding issues. But everyone that I have talked to in person has not had that issue, but online there are many.

I am not sure it is worth it there to save $$$

As I recall Sleep number beds are made of foam yes? If so, they wouldn't get bed bugs. Also they would be cleaner than regular spring beds. I think it might be worth it. But I would certainly look first.

The Ronald McDonald Houses get sleep # beds. I thought at first that I would really like them. But I don't. If it was just a twin it might be good but if bigger no way. B/c each side of the bed is "blown" up individually there is a huge seam between the sides. So it is hard to cuddle with dh - they aren't big and fluffy.

The 'warranty' transfers if you buy a used sleep # bed. I know cause I bought a used one. We took off the top of the mattress *above the air bladders,, where people actually slept* to the dry cleaners, had it cleaned, plus put a new mattress cover *pillowtop* to put on it.

No. I don't buy anything used that is 'soft' like pillows, anything upholstered, and definitely not a bed!!!
