I went on vacation this summer and came home to find the lawn mowed. I found out it was the retired neighbor that lived behind me. A couple of weeks later I started to mow and my mower broke down. A few days later the neighbor across the street asked me aout the lawn being high and I explained my Rider was in the shop and would mow when I got it back next week. He decided he did not like grass so high so came over and mowed.... the whole acre. I have great neighbors!!!

Well, if she is waiting for us to do it, she'll be waiting a while. Like I said, I don't do lawns, and dh had a bad back. We paid my brother to mow all summer. We have 2 very very large maples in our back yard that drop ALOT of leaves. WE have been trying to find someone to take them down, simply because we don't like dealing with all the leaves. That and they are old and take up a great portion of our back yard. WE have no rider, so we end up having to rake, its a week long process. WE did it several years, and then after dh left 2 years ago on business and left me to do it myself.... no thanks. SO Like I said, I do appreciate the help with it, but I'm not going out of my way to get them done. I'll pay my brother when I have some money, so if she isn't patient enough for that, too bad.

You have a 7 year old and a 9 year old.... Let them rake them up. You can get orange bags that they can have fun making faces on and then filling up with the leaves for instant yard decorations for Halloween. Or use your black bags and make a giant spider. The 5 year old can help stuff the bags.

True, but we are never home in the fall. My kids are in school all day, then do homework, and have cheer practice 4 nights a week. Our weekends are cluttered with cheer and soccer. On the weekend I make them clean up thier rooms and make their beds, then we are off again.

I know where you are coming from. I think maybe your neighbor just has too much time on her hands. She needs to remember that having a job, a life and kids to take care of, the lawn is the last thing on the list.
