It usually goes 5:30-7:30 in our neighborhood. If someone's out past 7:30, that's considered late around here. I'm not sure why that is.

I don't think we have any set hours.

Do you all live in neighborhoods that TELL you when trick or treating is? I don't get that. We don't have that here.
Usually people start out around 5:30 or so. But it isn't regulated.
I find that just plain weird- and IMHO, disconcerting.

Is anyone going out early since it's Saturday? It's been getting dark here around 5PM, so I was really hoping to be done by then, do you think my neighbors will hate me? LOL! My kids are young- 3 and 5 and they have colds and it's supposed to rain tonight. I hope my neighbors are thinking the same as me today!

In my neighborhood it is 6-8. When I was growing up, the town I lived in had it from like 4-6, which was weird to go out when it was still daylight. It rained all last night & now it is gloomy. It is in the 50s today, not too bad. It was 77 yesterday! I just hope the rain is done for the day.

I have no idea what times the city council has set - I will start handing out candy when the first kid knocks on the door, and stop either when the last kid is gone or I run out of candy, whichever comes first.

We have the Witches' Walk (trick-or-treating at downtown businesses) from 4-6 pm, and then neighborhood trick-or-treating is from 6-8.

Well I went out tonight and started at 6pm. NO ONE's lights were on, no one was out yet. It was crazy! So as usual we were the first people out. Finally at 6:30 the sun started going down and more people came out. So next year I'll start at 6:30 I guess. I was hoping to be done by 7pm, but we finished around 7:30 so not bad.

We didn't get the first knock until after 7. Most people around here don't seem to start before 7, even though its dark around 6. Got the last just after 8, but I keep the light on until about 9.

We don't have set hours here either. We don't go door to door so we go to our church's Fall Festival that is from 530 to 8.
