Where is it appropriate to clip your finger nails or floss your teeth?

Bathroom? Yes

Other areas of the house?

In the car?

On the train?

I saw someone flossing on in a restaurant after dinner. Completely grossed me out. I know someone else who does it while watching TV little bits of food flying everywhere. Yuck. I was in a car a while back and the person was clipping their nails and they were landing on me!

Am I alone here that flossing and clipping should only be done in the bathroom?

No...you're not. Flossing and clipping should be done privately in ones home. JMO

Flossing should definitely be done in the bathroom.

I don't mind people trimming their nails in other aras of the house, as long as it's not the kitchen, and as long as they collect the parings and throw them away.

If you absolutely HAVE to floss in the car, it can't wait, and there's no place to stop, go ahead, but at least try to contain any bits of food that might become dislodged; don't launch them at the driver or other passengers.
If you're going to pare your nails in the car, the same rules apply - collect them and dispose of them.

Ew! I have never flung food out of my mouth when flossing, just the image of it is gross! The way my teeth are spaced doesn't make that much of a problem though - I don't really get actual "food particles" stuck in them - plus I have a "thing" with getting food stuck in my teeth... I wouldn't call it a phobia but it's something that makes me feel gross enough that I avoid foods that tend to do that (corn on the cob, ribs, etc.). I always cut the corn off the cob or the meat off of the bone before I eat it. I usually floss in the bathroom though, and if I have a "flossing emergency" I do it as discreetly as possible.

As far as fingernails and toenails go, I appreciate it when other people hack away at their feet in the bathroom as well. It's okay anywhere else, they just better sweep the room when they get finished because those suckers FLY when you clip them! haha

Clipping nails, should be done either outside or in a room (besides the kitchen) over a garbage can.

We go to early service at church. There are 8 regular members who attend this service every Sunday. There is this one guy who sets in the back row and clips his nails every Sunday.

It is soooo annoying. Because we set 3 seats from the front and can hear his clipping. Last Sunday the preacher finally stop, till the guy stopped clipping his nails.

Will see if he starts back up next Sunday

ITA with you all. Flossing in the bathroom, definitely. Toenails over/near a garbage can, never in the kitchen. I clip mine outside when it's not cold or raining. I also paint my nails outside since dh hates the smell of polish, I try to be considerate.

Flossing should be done in the bathroom. As far as nail clipping, I tend to do mine and the kids while sitting on the couch, but I brush all of the clippings off onto the floor and vacuum when I'm done.

anywhere in ones home is fine with me, as long as no company is present and gets cleaned up.

we too have a lady at church who EVERY sunday clips and then files her nails. It p's me off!!!!

I think flossing should be done in private and clipping for regular mantiance the same as for clipping for a rip tear.... any where is fine with me beacuse I know how to feels to need to clip if that happens.
