Good grief! My 6 almost 7 yr old has lost 3 teeth - 4th one is barely in there- and the permanent one is coming in behind it. She is acting so awful when it comes to pulling it! 1st one no problem 2nd one her sister sat on her face and knocked it out she thought that was great! 3rd one sister accidentally knocked her in the mouth with her hand loosened it so much dad pulled it right out. She should be an old pro right? Noooo - she has obviously seen someone act "all scared" now she won't let anyone near it- clamps her mouth shut whining she's afraid blah blah blah this has been going on for 2 weeks! I know I know should not be that big of a deal but I'm thinking that the baby tooth needs to get out of the way of the perm. tooth and now she's acting like a spoiled baby we are now in a power struggle- and to top it off Dad told her that if she is going to act like that she can just come home from school and stay in her room. Well isn't that great 1st I think that's a little overboard and 2nd is he here to enforce that rule - nooo- and we also had plans for after school. O.k. I vented - thanks! Robin

Ds2 did the same thing two teeth ago. That poor tooth was hanging on by a thin string of gum meat-sorry dont know what to call it. It was gross! The four teeth before that were easy to get out. I think he pulled two and dh pulled the other ones. No big deal, not one peep was made over all four teeth. But that 5th one. He would howl like someone was hurting him. I swear the neighbors thought we were beating him. OMG, he screamed at the top of his lungs. He bit dh too. Once it was out, he was fine. Never made another peep about it. Just got off the chair and skipped to his room.
Same thing happened with the tooth after that but dh didnt pull it and ds2 lost it. We dont know if it fell out of his mouth and he didnt notice or if he swallowed it during dinner. He was half way thru dinner and noticed his tooth was gone. We dug thru the food on his plate a little but no tooth. He was pretty upset about losing it. I had to help him write a note to the tooth fairy so she would know that he did loose his tooth.
