My husbands sister and husband have a son (my only nephew) and it was easy to buy clothes for him in the past because it was all 12-24 months but now he is 24 months/2T and I have no clue how long he will be in those clothes and wanted to get some summer clothes for next year since they are on clearance now.

He will be two in January and is currently wearing 24 months / 2T clothes. How long do they usually stay in that size? Should I get him 3T summer clothes for next year or stick with 2t? I'm confused!! Thanks

Me personally, would get 3t's.... better to be bigger than tight. However, I have found that with my first child, she grew out of everything so quickly, and mini dd is staying in that 24 month 2T size a ton longer.

And too, t shirts can be worn well a bit bigger, and shorts too. Better than jeans and long pants (winter gear)!

I would buy 3t if it was from Jcpenny, walmart, kohls, Childrens place, I have found that Gymboree run very true to size and would stick to 2t
