My kitty is 17 years old. She is hilarious. She sleeps on our bed every night. Typically at the end. Well, the last few months, she just INSISTS on sleeping near my head! I love her and all, but I really don't want her little kitty feet touching my face. When she starts purring, she drools (heavenly huh?) and she is drooling all over my pillow, my face etc Over 10 years of sleeping on the end of the bed! Why change now?!

My Gwen Cat. She died six years ago this month. I still miss her like it was yesterday.

When she was a young cat my DH's youngest sister came to visit. She was 16 years old and at that very annoying stage. (Actually, she's almost 29 and still pretty annoying ). Anyway, SIL was sitting in the chair with Gwen up above her. DH told his sister, "Hey, give Gwen a kiss. She likes kisses."

SIL says, "I'm NOT going to kiss your STUPID cat."

If I hadn't been watching this I wouldn't had believed it. Gwen looked straight at her when she said "stupid cat", and she slapped SIL across her face with her paw. No claws ... just a slap. We still laugh about that. SIL claims not to remember.

melsb, that cat was awesome. i think it reinforces the idea that cats have selective hearing.

my cat likes to sleep in bags of all sorts. she especially loves cloth bags. i leave them on the floor once i finish putting away groceries, and when i come back in awhile she's peeking out at me from one.

Had I not seen this with my own eyes, I would not have believed it possible.
When M'ija was little, she had a battery operated keyboard with keys that lit up when you pressed them. One night, long past M'ija's bedtime, I heard the keyboard, and went into her room, intending to tell her to put it away and go to sleep or there would be no tv the next day. I found M'ija sound asleep and my cat sitting on the shelf in front of the keyboard, slapping at the keys with her front paws. I turned it off, and made a mental note to remind M'ija to be sure to turn the switch off when she was done playing with it, so as not to run the batteries down. Not half an hour later, I heard it again, and went back into M'ija's room to find the cat once again playing with it - she had figured out how to push the power switch on.

This same cat would get on my nightstand and slap at the buttons on my clock radio until the radio came on. Apparently, she had a love for music.

I have so many, one of my cats (had to get rid of after dd was bron Jelious) she would lick my shirt all over to the point I had to change my shirt all the time right before headding out the door. (I wuold have wet spots all over)

Out of our 2 current cats. One is more like a dog than a cat, she eats my bathroom towels if the door is not shut, She draws things around in her mouth (dds toys), she eats everything and anything off the floor, chews on plastic, EATS any plant I bring into the house even fake ones.

the other one is very Vocal you say here name and no matter where she is in the house she will talk back to you.

So many stories. The time Kimba (white kitty) somehow made it up into the drop ceiling of our basement. We couldn't find her anywhere & suddenly there was a crash - and one of the ceiling tiles had fallen out, and there she was w/ cobwebs all over her.

Gomez got into the cupboard at night & found a bag of egg noodles, opened it, and played egg noodle hockey all over the kitchen floor.

My first Thanksgiving at our own home, I had a goose soaking in the sink. Lewis (striped tabby) was about 6 months old. He hopped on the counter & bit into the tip of the wing & pulled and pulled as hard as he could. He was determined to make off w/ that goose!

Lewis also likes to jump from the roof of the car up onto the top of the garage door, if the garage door is open.

Clark loves bringing home headless birds, mice, voles, squirrels. If he gets the little red squirrels - them's good eating - he'll eat the whole thing, not just the head, and just leave the fluffy tail and some grey internal organ. Always the same organ. Then, he will barf the whole semi-disgusting thing up on the oriental rug in the living room. Yep - good times.

Lewis - also when he was little - went in the basement & found the box of yams from Costco. He removed every one of those yams & carried them up to the kitchen to play yam hockey. All through the night we thought we heard something rolling down the stairs, it was the yams as he dropped them bringing them up the steps.

Peabody (white lips) will come into the family room & screech these wailing meows at us when it's time for us to turn off the tv and go to bed. And we better get in there fast & put the afghan where he wants it because he's ready to settle in.

our little girl LOVES to bathe....if you are soaking in the tub she will hop right in with you, and swim about in it. she will not stay very long if its too hot.

the younger male loves to chase the vacuum cleaner when i use it( most cats are afraid and he challenges it to a fight)

the older male... he is getting up there( in years and weight) and now he does not do much ...he use to chase squirrels across our yard and once he ran at the highway sound barrier across the parking lot from our house( its behind where we park) and he started to go up it then realized he was de-clawed and dh caught him before he hit the ground.

I forgot - sometimes in the middle of the night, Peabody will open the closet in the guest room & start "playing" my dulcimer in there. We'll wake up to the sound of strings being plucked. And every morning when I get out of the shower, Clark is waiting on the edge of the tub. He likes to swat at the water droplets running down the shower curtain.

This past week, Peabody has also been chasing his tail. He likes to hop in the tub and start going in circles to catch it.
