My husband and I are from the same town. My parents celebrate Thanksgiving at home and enjoy not traveling. My husbands family travels to their oldest daughter's home and celebrates there. Is it wrong to start our own family tradition? Last year my son was only 2 months old. We spent Thanksgiving as a family and decorated for Christmas. I would like to keep that as OUR family tradition. Is that wrong?

No, I don't think it's wrong to start your own traditions. As long as you and your dh are happy that is the important thing IMO.

Nothing at all wrong with starting your own traditions. "Just because we've always done it this way" doesn't mean that you hve to keep doing it that way if you find a way you like better.
