I just found out I'm having Thanksgiving for the whole family. I would like to buy or make a special little gift to place on their plates. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm curious - how do you "just find out" that you're cooking/hosting dinner for people?

I would go to the dollar tree.

Last year at Xmas, I bought glasses that had the stem on them. They were real glass and look good.

I took a paint pen, and wrote every one's name on them. Then sat the glasses at the table, by the plates, where I wanted everyone to sit.

I even did the older kids, one. For the younger kids, I did the same thing, but only with plastic glasses.

Now everyone knew where to set, plus they got to take the glasses home with them.

Thanks!

Another thing that I have done in the past, is to take plain round Xmas ornaments. Put their name and date on them. Stick them either in a basket (and let them find their own ornament) or set them on the table by their plate.

You can get a whole box, pretty cheap and they will go a long way.

Thanks, Ruthie! I like the glass idea. I think I'll try to find something fallish to tie around the base! Phoenyx - I just found out I was having it because of procrastination on my part and my s-i-l. I really don't mind I already bought a 24 lb turkey last week and actually enjoy entertaining.

We did personalized cloth napkins one year. Every family had a complete set to take home!

My Mom always did foil wrapped chocolate turkeys at Thanksgiving at each place. They were SO CUTE! I've seen them in the Godiva catalog. My Mom just got them at our local 'Mom & Pop' locally owned chocolate store.
