delayed vaccinations ? If you do what does that mean ? You delay them until its forced for them to get into the school ? I dont do it im on top of all vaccinations Because I find them very important. I would Love to hear more about this and the reason you decided to delay them.

i dont delay them if they are needed for school u might as well get them done and out of the way since u have to get them eventually

they had a problem here with some middle school kids who needed a shot and didnt get it so the school set up a free clinc and if they still didnt get them then they werent allowed to come back to school .

No. The vaccines are designed to be a certain dose at a certain age, and at certain intervals to build up the resistance to disease. I wish they weren't required or needed so, but they are. My biggest issues is how long it takes the CDC and FDA to look into and act on problems, like thimerisol, the preservative in vaccines. Most no longer have this, but it is such an issue with allergies, reactions, etc., and is thought to be a culprit in autism. Yet, six years after it was conclusively found to be a concern, it's still allowed in some shots. I ask first, because there are alternatives.

We do not vaccine our children. It is the preservative agent in some vaccines that has been linked to autism.

You can request an exemption for the department of health in your state which is good for the entire life of the child.

That being said. We are so careful about being around other sick children, or if Hunter even has a low temperature. I would hate for anyone else to get sick because of Hunter. We live in an extremely rural area where we could go months without seeing anyone if we choose.

To not vaccinate takes a lot of responsibility for the parents to be careful and respectful of others and to always be on the lookout for situations. Flying back and forth the Disney in Orlando just scares me. We all boost up for a week on emergen C and then take airborne.

In the end, with not vaccines and a lot of heated arguments with the local GP, Hunter does have autism. For whatever reason.

Would I have done it the same knowing what I do now, YES. At least I did everything I could.

This is a topic that can be heated and it is just what I do for my child and our family. Please no flames.

Merry Christmas, April

No, I have great faith in my pediatrician, and when he tells me it's time to get them vaccinated, I do it. I'm a nurse and always read the warning things we have to sign when they give the vaccinations, but I feel the greater risk in from lack of vaccination than from getting one. So no....I'm an "on-timer".

I have always had them vaccinated on time. The slight chance of a preservative is voided by the possiblity that they could end up with something much worse. My oldest just entered college and I was adamant that she be vaccinated against meningitis. Unfortunately, our children are subjected to so many chemicals and hormones just from what we feed them, so I understand why some people avoid vaccinations and eat only organic. But that just isn't for me. A lot comes from my mom having a brother who died from polio when she was just a little girl. She said it was the most horrible illness she has ever witnessed.

yes I imunize my children, the only thing I do different is that at thier 2 month checkup we dont give them all four of the shots at once. We give them two and then a month later we give them 2 more. I think that more than two shots at one time is just to much, so when there are more we just ask for two and go back in little while and get the rest.
