THANK GOD! She is so much better with a pet to focus on. She really treats animals well - a lot better than she treats people to be honest! We were to the point of getting her one, but apparently the vet called and had a kitten that needed a home so they jumped on it. She is really cute and the kids love her.

The weird part is (and this shows you how moody she is right now thanks to Christmas) they didn't tell us for a week! This woman can't keep a secret to save her life. They didn't call, didn't send pictures, etc. Very weird. We went over to see them yesterday as planned for awhile.

The only part that I am a bit ticked over is they named her Callie II. Our cat that died in 2004 was named Callie (my inlaws had her due to my allergies for the last six years of her life, but we still saw her) so that makes me a bit ticked, but whatever. Their cat that just died was named Peppy. We have a dog named Peppy that they stole the name from, too. It makes me sad when she calls her Callie because, though I am not a big cat fan due to allergies, that was the one cat that I can say I loved and it makes dh and I sad to hear her name with another cat. But, I guess we will get used to it.

Well at least she has something to focus her energies on!!!

Yes, it was ok. She is still in her Scrooge mood, but that is typical every Christmas. Her mother is Scrooge because when she was 3, her baby brother died (in 1917 on Christmas Day) and her family basically hated Christmas after that.

So, it has been passed down for three generations now. It is not being passed on to my dh, thankfully.

Claire, maybe they think they are honoring Callie by naming the kitten after her. Or maybe they just can't come up with an original name?
