I did watch it, and as others have said, it really wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. I guess my morbid curiosity got the best of me. The video was really blurry and moved around alot and didn't show much. The audio was awful too, so I really don't think it was as bad as what you might think. Apparently they have arrested the person who took the video and it wasn't a hoax, I read that report yesterday online. I have no compassion for that man, I feel like he deserved it. Maybe harsh, but that is how I feel.

I watched it, a couple of times actually
the first time, I closed my eyes when the cracking sound came about and I didn't see a thing.
then I played it again, and watched it. I said a prayer in my heart for the soul of that man. That was still a soul of a human being, regardless of what he did or said.

It might me something pretty naive to some, but this what happened with me. I am totally against the Death Penalty in any shape or form, and I wished It hadn't been filmed at all, but I still had the need to see it.

Nope and I don't plan to. I don't want to see things like that. I didn't want to see Princess Diana's accident photos, other deaths out there to view, etc. It just isn't for me.

It is not for me to watch. I think I would have nightmares too.

Gosh no. I didn't even think to look for it. I guess in this day and age, everything is posted. I also think it's in extremely bad taste to post the pictures of him dead, like Cox did, albeit with a warning. Having pix of him dead in the paper is in poor taste, also. I remember back when Coucescu was shown dead, I thought that breached taste barriers. Plus, I had wondered if it was really him. I just don't think it's necessary to show that. There are a lot of sensitive people out there, especially our children, who would be negatively affected by this.

I haven't watched it and have no plans to. In fact, when they show parts of it on the news (right before he was actually hung), I turn it off. Yes, Saddam was a bad man (one of many in the world), but I have absolutely no desire to watch him (or any other bad/evil person) die.

I didn't watch the video. My brother-in-law posted a link to it on his Myspace blog. It's just not something I need to witness.

As far as 'compassion' for the man ... my husband's comment when he saw the video was, "Good! They pulled the lever just as he was mouthing off." Apparently, people in the crowd were shouting taunts at him and at some point he started to shout back. That's when the trap door opened - caught him in mid-sentence. He went out of this world exactly like he had lived in it. He certainly didn't look sorry or contrite. I can't say I feel any compassion for him. The whole concept of how he lived his life and how it ended is sad, but I don't feel compassion for the man.

I have no desire to see it. I didn't even like seeing the pictures of him just prior to the hanging that they had posted on the net and plastered on tv.
