...watch the hanging of Saddam on the internet?

PLEASE don't flame me. Dh and I got on the net, got to the video...and just before the crucial second we looked at each other and said, "Turn it off!!" Even though he was a horrible, hated man, I just Couldn't watch someone else's death, we just thought that "crack" sound and vision of him dying would haunt us to our dying day (no pun intended).

So, did you watch it and if you did, do you regret it? No harsh words to anyone who happened to watch it, please - I think if people are open enough to be honest they should feel comfortable to keep doing so. Thanks.

Shows how out of the loop I am, I didn't even know it was on there! I don't think I will watch it though. I'm afraid I would have nightmares or something.

I switched it on, heard the peopls taunting him, heard him muttering, and same like you, switched it off, couldnt do it. He did desrve what he got, but I could not watch another human being killed.

I didn't watch it and didn't even like seeing the pictures on the front page of the newspaper.

I did not watch it. I don't think I would handle it well. I'm not big on the death penalty way of handling things. I really think he should have been tried for his other crimes first. To bring closure to his other victims.

I didn't watch it. I know that if I would have, the image would have really bothered me. I watched an episode of Dr. Phil where they showed videos of homeless people being tormented and tortured, and I still can't get those images out of my mind. I know I couldn't handle watching anybody die.

Ughhh! I don't think that I could watch it. Dh probably would if he had time. He likes to look at stuff like that. Especially accident scenes that show people...I can't even talk about it. He showed me one and now I do have nightmares. He is an EMT/Firefighter on the road and works directly in the ER on occasion so he sees alot of stuff.

Okay...can't tell a lie. I watched it. It wasn't as disturbing as I thought it might be. Not because I wanted to see him hang, but just because I couldn't tell what was going on half the time. You have to remember it's not a professional taping, it's a cell phone recording it. The quality is really bad and I couldn't really hardly tell what was even going on. There was lots of yelling, but of course I had no idea what was being said. They showed him when they put the rope around his neck, but then the cell phone lost him for a bit, so I couldn't see him fall or actually choking or anything. They did show his face a little later, but I couldn't really tell much about that either. I couldn't even tell from the recording that he was actually dead. Maybe others have seen a better picture, but the one I saw off the internet, like I said, was very unclear and confusing.
