Last night we had friends over for supper. My dh fried fish in the garage so that the house wouldn't get smelly. When he was finished he put the lid on the cast iron pot, but forgot to turn off the propane tank, so the fire was still burning. We had finished supper and started on dessert when the kids came into the dinning room and said there was a funny smell in the den. Dh and friend's dh went to investigate and opened the door to the garage and it was full of smoke. The backyard was full of smoke also. We had a smoke detector in there, but dh feel through ceiling right before Thanksgiving and knocked it down.(hasn't been put back up yet)

I am so thankful that he put the lid on the pot, otherwise we would have had a huge fire in the garage. I think it is God's way of telling us to check our smoke detectors. Be sure to check yours. (a year ago this Thursday we lost our neice and nephew in a house fire)
