So far 2007 hasn't started out very good.
It all started two weeks before Christmas, my hours were cut back at work. I ended up with 6 days off at Christmas went back for 2 days andthen was off for 6 more days. Although it was nice to have some time off for the holidays ...ouch when I got my paycheck it hurt. At this same time dh was told as of Dec 30 he would be laid off. I has since gone back to full time hours plus I have been able to pick up 1 extra shift a week. Dh still hasn't been able to find another job.He should get his 1st unemployment check this week
But has decided to try an find a job closer to home and not wait for his last job to call him back to work. He worked 25 miles from home athats 50 miles a day for work. The gas was costing almost as much as he makes. Then last friday my daughter called me her husband was fired. They are just starting out. Have no money Have a baby that will be 1year next week. Can't make the rent this month. Although their landlord was real nice this month,said they can pay the rent late this month ( I gave $ 100 for rent so they only owe $300 more) If they can't find a job by next month it looks like they will be moving back in with us. I make enough to pay our rent and utlities and keep us afloat.But thats it. -worried-
We have had to make alot of budget cut backs. One of the easest places to cut back is the food budget. When I get paid next week we plan to take most of my check and stock up on the basics. We don't have the stockpile that we use too. Because we have been living on it for the last few months since we moved.
We have had the cable TV turned off. So the kids have been watching DVD or play board games. It's been very cold here(-10 yesterday) so they are stuck in the house
I am hoping things start getting better soon.
