I need some good vibes and wishes for my dear son Andrew,
and his surgical team for Monday morning
Saturday night he was helping his Dad do Bingo set up and severely cut 2 fingers on his right hand.

Both fingers show signs of damaged tendons and he has metal shavings in the wounds.
The swelling was so bad that the wound was cleaned and 14 stitches to his pinkie and 9 stitches to ring finger were used to close to stop bleeding.His fingers are splinted and he is doing okay but on heavy duty pain medication and antibiotics
Tomorrow the surgeon will do the surgery to repair the tendons and clean out the metal. It's been hectic the last 24 hours
and I had to come to work to relax.

good vibes comin your way. This is probably so scary already but we are all on your son's side, rootin'. I hope everything goes wonderfully and he'll be back home better than ever. I will be thinking of your family.

Andrew was helping pull mats for floor and his hand slid across bar into j hook and tore his fingers up. His Dad was going to drive him to hospital but Andrew passed out in car [shock and blood loss]and DH just pulled over and called 911.
The xrays show no breaks but a lot of metal fragments in wound
a long with loss of function tied into tendon damage.

It's a bad start to the Senior year and Football is right around the corner. He'll attend all the practices but with an estimated 4-6 weeks of healing and then rehab-
Andrew is trying hard not to show his depression but he is a
Captain and 7 on 7 starts tomorrow.
He wants to go after the surgery-
I think it will be too much but will gage him after surgery- if just standing on the sidelines will help I'm going to drive him there and sit in the stands- a happy patient heals much faster than a depressed one.
I have to call Dr office in morning to find out time for OR.
The Dr doing the surgery is the same one who repaired MIL facial traumas from the 1992 accident- he is very good and has quite a few of the local pros as patients
ANOTHER REASON ANDREW IS DEPRESSED-
HIS ROAD TEST IS SCHEDULED 1ST WEEK OF AUGUST-
HE MAY NOT BE MEDICALLY CLEARED TO TAKE IT

That is a major bummer. I feel for him. I will pray that everything works out for him.

Please let Andrew know he has a bunch of mommies supporting, praying for, and wishing him well!! I truly hate he is having to go through this. Please update us whenever possible.

BTW--Where have you been, Rosemarie? If I am not mistaken you have been missing in action for quite a few days or should I say nights.

When I'm at work I click off as soon as I have a call and it has beenvery busy lately. Then I was off Friday and busy with other stuff and could not get to computerthe Saturday happened and I was supposed to work overnight but feklt it was more important to stay home with DS- in fact we made return trip to ER in middle of night because he lost feeling to pinkie.
17 years old or not he's still my baby boy
