Well, an AC unit. I saw a portable one at Costco that was large enough to cool our whole basement. It is about $600. We haven't bought one cause we rent our house and thought it a bad investment. It's been so freakin hot though that the kids are miserable and I don't have the energy to do anything during the day but sweat. The temp inside our house has been steady in the 90's for weeks and it's not going to let up for at least a month. Dh didn't seem interested in it till this weekend when he actually had to endure this heat. We ended up packing up the kids and going to the mall, cause the house was too hot to handle. So tonight, after a day of heat, he told me that it was too hot (something I've been telling him for a month as he sat in his airconditioned office) and he wants me to buy a unit tomorrow.

I'm so excited!! I've just been miserable for the past 2 months in this heat. It's gonna strap up financially, since I was going to pay for our vacation package with this check. We decided that it was worth putting off planning our vacation for a month to not be miserable through the rest of summer...

So, by tomorrow night I'm gonna be chillin....

Perhaps your dh read my post where I suggested you buy a window unit to keep cool.

I'm glad he's letting you get an A/C. Enjoy your cool, comfortable air.

Whoo hooo! A/C. Are you in Utah? I remember a post that you said about the days of 47 which as we know is in Utah today. I saw how hot it is and we are 4 hours to the north and we are roasting also.

I am happy for you and your family! Chill.
