Wow, yesterday was down by Indy (indiana) to look at rentals. Laugh, and I'm so excited to move, but at the same time freeked out. I don't know the area, and it is totally new to me. Dh knows the area without a problem, he lived there for a few years, and worked in the area. I am from a flippin farm, and moved to a Medium city when I was 18, but now, only 5 years later, moving again, to a different city, I'm freeking. I don't know the area, people or stores. Sil will be there, but she works, and I'm afraid I'm going to get lost. Laugh call dh while he is at work, hey honey I'm lost. Ha! And I'm a trusting person, but will be standoffish, but ...... I don't know. Last night I got a migrane from thinking of it all. I'm normally easy going, but dang, now I'm all tense and a little worried. Will I have cool neighbors? Will our pets be cool with the move? Will we have enough room to get all our stuff in and be happy? And the biggest problem, we are leaving our OB, and Emma's Ped. They are both great, and I'd rather move them with us.
The whole reason for us moving is dh job and getting Emma around things that will be cool for a kid. Zoo, other children, a good school, all kinds of stuff. And I'm all for it but I'm freeking, that I'm not going to be able to swing it. I know this will pass, and I'll be happy with the move and figure it all out, but now it is scary.

I'm sure you will be able to find a nice place to live. It will take a while to get used to but you will find your way around. Have DH show you where basic things are before he starts work so you'll know. Good luck!

I live up in NW Indiana. I have lots of friends and relatives there. There is the zoo, children's museupm, so you will have stuff to do! YAY! I have to go to Chicago to get any of that!

I'm sure it'll be fine. We moved from a neighborhood, that was start up homes, and TONS of kids to a neighborhood where we were one of the first to build, and not any little kids. We went big, not wanting to move again in 5 years. Oh well, but I'd look for neighborhood with lots of kids for sure.

Ask the realtor or landlord showing you the properties where the closest park is, schools, mall, Target, grocery store, etc. Some larger places may have this available to print up for you.

We moved to an area where DH grew up, and I was only about 15 min. from, he knew all the backroads, shortcuts, etc where I'd get lost on the way to my favorite grocery store 20 min away if I took a back road! It'll be ok, you'll learn!

I'm sure it'll all go well!

Just because you will not grow taller anymore does not mean you will not grow.

This will be an adventure- and while millions of people have taken the same journey- this adventure is just yours!!!

Change can be scary and cause tears- However the best journeys in life all start with one little step.
Come On A Great Big Smile and take that first step!!!!!

Best wishes on finding a place and enjoy the newness and the anticipation.

I live in an indianapolis suburb. Do you know what side of town you want to live in??? My advice in not to live in Indianapolis proper. Their schools and most of the township schools (not IPS the city schools, but other Marion county schools) SUCK!!!!! When our kids got school age we moved from a beautiful neighborhood in Indy and my dh insisted we not stay in Marion co. because of the schools. Boy am I glad. We live in Carmel and LOVE, LOVE our schools, but there are also lots of other nice school districts...Fishers, Zionsville & Noblesville on the north. Greenwood on the South. Brownsburg on the West. and ....hmmm....have to think about the east. Also have a great pediatrician...he's voted #1 in the city every year, but again, he's on the north side. Let me know if you have any questions. HTH
