Justgot back from Surgeon and it is not looking good.
Andrew definitely severed tendon in ring finger and may have
severed tendon in pinkie.
The surgery may take 4-6 hours[ micro surgery]
and minimum 8 weeks to heal. Then rehab starts
Andrew is past devastation-
We are on our way to tell coach and team that Andrew will miss 4 games at the least- he almost broke down in Dr's office at that news.
He will be there for his team at all possible practices and he is determined to spend time in weight room working on his legs.
Tomorrow will be so rough- Andrew was under anesthesia several times with his kidney failure and I hated the way he looked then.
Prayers, positive thoughts will be greatly appreciated
I'll directhim to board when we get back-
Thanks for letting me vent- I do not want to cry in front of him.

Rosemarie,
I am sorry to hear that the prognosis is not that great. It is very difficult to be someone that your team members look up to and have to miss part of your senior year. Something that is so important to a young person. I am thinking of you and sending up special prayers that he will do well during surgery and will heal quickly.

I am definately thinking of your family in this tough time. It is never easy to go through something like this but you have raised a wonderful boy who will make the best of it no matter what. That is the biggest blessing. Good luck to you and your family, take it easy. We are all thinking of you!

I am sorry, he must be so very upset. You'll be in my thoughts, I am hoping for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for him.

I hope he recovers quicker than anticipated. I hate that he will miss his football games. I understand about the anesthesia--it is always hard knowing that they will go under. Afterwards is always the pits also!! Take some time to be by yourself and have a good cry and know that I am sending you ((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))!!!!

Hugs and prayers being sent from me as well! My littlest dd has also been anesthetized MANY MANY times, so I can totally relate to that. I sure hope he does well and the tendons heal fast!!

I will make sure we say a prayer for Andrew this evening and again in the morning. I know he is devestated by his finger but thank God they can fix it. All the best.
