I posted this in the religion forum, too, but was hoping to get more prayers, here. I just opened a letter from our priest to the parishioners. We thought he was recovering from walking pneumonia, but he has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and only has a short period of time to live.

Please pray for him and for his parishioners. This is not going to be easy. I am so upset about this.

I am so sorry to hear about your priest. That is horrible. I will pray for him, his family and also his church family.
I am sure you are not the only one upset by this. I am also sorry that you had to recieve this news in the form of a letter instead of him being able to tell the congregation at church. I am sure it was a very difficult letter to write and to have to receive.

Yes, he apologized for not telling us at church, but apparently, he is having trouble talking it has advanced so quickly. That was obvious the last time we saw him three weeks ago. He looked and sounded horrible at Mass.
