We are currently shopping for a new refridgerator/freezer. *I have been given an open shopping arena and the go ahead to purchase any one I want. *I am wondering which you prefer and why? *Any thing that will help out (features, brands, etc) would be greatly appreciated.

TIA * *

(Hopefully I did the poll feature right )

I prefer the side by side w/ water and ice in the door (saves us from having to by bottled water and ice). We also have a seperate freezer that we have outside in our garage which is nice to store things for when we stock up. HTH

I have one w/ the freezer on the bottom. LOVE IT! I can fit a full sized turkey in there and I still have TONS of room! I don't need to worry about opening my freezer and having anything drop onto my feet (or little heads).

Also, it's nice to peak into the fridge and not have to bend over. LOL Everything is at eye level.

Plus, it uses less energy.

Okay we bought one this spring and it is stainless with water, ice and crushed ice in the door, side by side! It is nice but if you have the money go and get the friedge on top side by side nad the freezer on the bottom!!!!!! That is awesome but pricey!!!

I would like to buy one with side by side fridge on top and freezer on the bottom right now we just rent and have a regular one with freezer on top, I've always had these ones and don't like them. We do have an extra freezer outside.

Ditto. I just looked for the side by side that had the most convenient freezer space and features. Don't have to deal with the bottled water thing. We would have a freezer outside anyway since I stockpile stuff.

I prefer the side by side. It helps organize both the freezer and fridge space since there are more shelves. The only problem I have had is that it is not wide enough for some things. If you get a large vegetable platter or leftover pizza in the box - it is not wide enough. Also the freezer is not wide enough for frozen pizzas, frozen pies, etc. so I have a separate freezer to store those things.
