I battle with nutrition...I'm obsessed. I have been trying really hard to get away from using animal...well, anything. My latest little victory is warm vanilla rice milk. It's just like having a cup of hot chocolate, but full of calcium, it's yummy and not from cows! yeah!

one more baby step toward going vegetarian....

Mmmm, sounds good.

I drink warm soy milk with a half teaspoon of real vanilla. Yummy!

Good for you. Are you trying to be vegetarian or vegan? Just wondering since you said animal anything.

Personally I couldn't do it ( nor do I want to ) but kudos to you for going for what you want!

I'm starting off aiming toward being vegetarian, I would love to be a vegan though. It's a hard process mostly because I was brought up on your basic American foods. But I have a deep love for animals and try to see things from their prospective. They are creatures that feel love and pain, they play when they are young and they can be taught to trust us. It hurts me to think that I am taking the life of something who shares some of the same basic feelings as I have.

So after I figure out how to live as a vegetarian I will work toward being a vegan, because I think that their quality of life is also important. There are other environmental issues mixed in as well, but for the most part, those are the biggies for me.

My baby only drinks rice milk. He loves it. We also get dairy free cocoa.

BTW did you see the article today about doctors questioning whether or not dairy is even good for humans? (AlternativeHealth doctors have discussed this for EVER, so it was funny to see it being questioned by mainstream doctors.) I didn't get to finish the article...got interrupted. Can you imagine??? ((3 kids under foot....))

I have been reading up on this too. Humans are the only beings that drink another animals milk. I really is kind of funky when you think about it. I won't even go into the yucky studies of what's really in there. I like milk, I grew up on it...but am really happy that I found a decent alternative. Tomorrow I'm going to see if the boys like rice milk too.
