Well, I stopped by after school to get an application and talk to the woman there. When I got out of my car, I said a little prayer, asking God to let me know if this is something that would be good for me to do. My friend answered the door, and introduced me to the woman. We talked for a while, because she was required to discuss the job before each applicant filled out the paperwork.
Nothing went "wrong", per se, but I just got the feeling that this isn't for me. They like to keep their workers "busy" by giving them a ton of clerical work, so reading a book or catching up on paperwork from school would not have been an option. That's just an example, though. Also, they require their part time people to work 3 days a week, but their weekenders work every-other weekend. Well, that would mean that on my "off" weekends, I would have to find 3 other shifts throughout the week. That isn't feasible. When I asked her about that, she just said, Oh, we can see about that. I just felt that someone else would benefit much more from having that part-time job, instead of me.
But I did fill out the application, because I didn't have the guts to just walk out. I'm hoping that they just choose not to call me for another interview in 2 weeks.
Isn't that AWFUL that I feel that way? Here we are - in serious debt and I am looking at turning down a job. But I do believe that something is out there for me. I just need to be a bit more patient. Thank you again to all of you who offered your opinions about this. It really meant a lot to me!
