Ok, well, my husband and I are doing a course called Financial Peace University. It is a great course and it doing our "homework" for this week we have realized that we are going in the hole every month. This has caused us to really look at our expenses and also discuss how we can bring in more money. I am trying to figure out how to go to work. I have two in school and two home. Ideally, I need to find a job at home so as not to have childcare issues. I am an accountant and looked in the paper for PT jobs. I sent in a resume to a job posted in the paper, I sent my resume in to two different temp/permanent job placement companies and I have called several individuals who are familiar with the community to see if they knew of anyone who was looking for someone to help with their bookkeeping. I am trying to figure out what else I can do. ANY suggestions would be appreciated...

If you an accountant, can you pull in some customers and do some taxes? I lucked out with my job...I used to live in NJ and move to NC 18 months ago. The company I was with didn't want to loose me so they hooked me up in NC so I can still access my computer and stuff in NJ...anything I need a hardcopy for - they fax me...I get the same pay, but I get the benefit of staying home with the kids...I just have to travel to NJ every once every 6 months to straighten up anything in the office and help where needed (I'm an office manager and still take on all the duties of the HR dept, Ins Quotes, AR and AP) I'm also going to school for my MBA in Accounting. I do some Avon on the side (not really profitable) and during this time of the year, I have a few clients that I do taxes for...I don't charge a lot, I just charge enough to cover the program I use with a little benefit, and it saves other people money, because the ones I do it for can't really afford an income tax preparer and do not know how to even do their own taxes.

I just moved to the area about a year ago and so I have no connections here. I thought about doing taxes and was hoping to arrange to work with a accountants office and work from home. I may just send in my resume to several places and see what happens. I have sold Creative Memories, and LOVE it, but I have to reestablish a customer base here and do not want to commit to that until I know more people. Besides, I did not make money on CM, I just enjoy it. HE HE
It is just a slap in the face that if you want to continue the way you have been living and not go into debt, something has to be done... So, I continue to look...
