I once saw a thing that was "you know you're from a small town when" and it had "Dairy Queen is your only restaurant" and that's pretty much us. I live in Hillbilly Hell (I've been watching CARS) and our DQ doesn't even have a grill--they just have hot dogs and chips.

When we go back to Iowa we ALWAYS go to Hy-Vee and hit the Chinese food and the chicken. Yummmmmmm.......

Oh my gosh!! Hot dogs and chips!? You can eat that at home any old day! Our DQ is pretty good...and they're getting ready to completely remodel and become a little nicer restaurant. Ours used to be Druther's, though...

There are many since I use to live in the Dallas, TX area and now live in EBF.... but there are 2 that I really wish we had ... PF Chang ( can drive 2 hours to one) and Romano's Macaroni Grill... My dh and I would go there at least once a month.

Where I live the town I live in is somewhat small, and the next town are right next to each other, almost like they're combined, so we have some restaurants, mostly fast food like McD's, Arby's, Burger King, Subway (my favorite!!) but most sit down restaurants, I have to drive to the other side of the next town from where I live, so it is like driving 20 minutes to get there. Then to the north, about 25 minutes, there are alot more chain restaurants like Olive Garden, etc., but mostly the regular kind, not the real fancy, smancy kind, KWIM?

I would really like to have Steak and Shake restaurant closer than 25 minutes. I love the milkshakes there!! So yummy! I would also love to have a specialty Italian restaurant come in here...

I went to a restaurant called Carleone's the other day... I wasn't paying, and glad of it, LOL because the dinners were priced around $13-15 each... but it was soooo good. I want to go back but I don't know how to get there..

We have no chains in OUR town, but we are waaaay out in the country. About 25 minutes away in the next town we have just about every chain there is.

Years ago I was down south on business and had dinner at Pargo's. It was fantastic. I wish they had one of those here. We also enjoy Sonic and Waffle house when we go to FL but they are not in our area. Would be nice to have them here too.
