I almost jumped up and down and yelled in the middle of Tops today.....

I've really been trying to cut down on my grocery bill. I was spending between $160 - $200 per week on groceries.

The first week of Feb I spent $99. I was happy!
The next was $120. I had Valentines stuff in there, still pretty good for me.
I just got back and this weeks was......$74. Yeah!!! Happy Twirls and woopty doos!

And as a side note: I was tempted to get new furniture on a zero finance sale. I didn't do it. I sewed my nasty old furniture again so that is a savings of about $3000! I deserve credit for not caving on that one, it was tough.

Way to go!

Since you normaly spend 200 or so maybe you could put the money you have been saving toward a "new furniture fund"?

Oh my word...I'd freak out if I went through the checkout and my grocery bill was between $160 and $200...where on earth do you live??? Maybe the area has something to do with the groceries being higher than where I'm at? I'm in Kentucky and I spend $75 or less a week for a family of six. That's not counting cleaning supplies, laundry detergent or paper products like tp and paper towels...but wow, even those wouldn't bring it up that much for us.

Regardless, congratulations! That's a HUGE savings...you have now succeeded in cutting your grocery bill in HALF!!!

Good job! Groceries is an area I need to work on, too! If I could just get DH off the desserts . . .
