how do you get a picture for the avatar? I cant shrink mine small enough to fit the max size?

If you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, you can resize pics in that before trying to post them on here... that's what I use...
If you need help, I can resize it for you.

*edited to add : if it's one that moves, resizing it in pic manager stops the movement... has to do with resizing each frame or something... I'm not sure how to shrink .gifs

Has anyone figured out how to make the menu on the left side of the screen go away? Is it even possible? Also, how to keep the thread size small enough to fit on the screen so I don't have to continually scroll back and forth to read a post? Sometimes the size is ok, but other times, it runs off the screen.

There is a blue dot after your name when you post in a topic
If the center of the dot is
Green =that person is currently online/on the boards
Grey = offline
Red = invisible/annonymous
