Has anyone done a build-a-bear birthday party? My dd will be 4 at the end of March and I was going to do one but I didn't know if it was worth the money? We did a gymnastics party last year but now everyone we know is doing that so we don't want to do that again. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

It depends on how much money you have to spend. The parties start at 10-12 dollars per child and that is just for the bear. The animals range all the way up to $25. The outfits start out at $5 for just a shirt up to $15 for a full outfit. It can get very expensive if you get all the accessories. However, my kids love it!!!! One time I took my dd and her friends and only bought the animal and they were responsible for the clothes. Last year I took my ds and dd but only took their best friend and let them pick out whatever they wanted (animal, clothes, shoes, etc.) and they were happy. Check it out to see what they offer for the parties, I think you have to have a certain number of kids. HTH!

I actually JUST looked into a party there. Its not a bad deal. I happened in there one time when there was a party and it looked FUN!

Here is some basic info on a party:

And this a party calulator. You put in how many kids and what you want to spend, and they show you what you can get per party.

At four you could easily do a party at home. Do a Princess theme and have all the girls where dressup clothes and buy them crowns and plastic jewlery.

Build a Bear could get pricey. I just took my ds last Wed and his bear came to $26. He wanted a cat that was $18 and then i only let him get a t-shirt. It was still pretty expensive. I guess if you went in before hand and picked out the cheapest animals and let the kids know those were the ones they could pick from you could keep the price a little lower.

What about Chuckee Cheese? If you don't reserve the birthday room you could just go in and buy pizza and tokens and not pay the full amount for the birthday bash.
