anyone who wants to play a nurse or doctor.....

Ok, you all know that I have whined and moaned about this sinus infection and ear infection allllll week. But for the love of God, can someone please tell me when my ears are going to open back up. If I soon don't get out of this hole, I am going to go crazy!!!! I just took my third day of antibiotic and am still taking Mucinex. Please, someone, please give me some answers.

Hmmm....third day of antibiotics you should be feeling better. I would call the doctor back, you may need a different antibiotic. Sorry...not much help here. But I hope you feel better soon.

I do feel somewhat better as far as the sinus pressure is concerned, it is just these darn ears. But I guess that is what you are talking about. I will give them a call. I was hoping to get an answer from you.

You might want to give your Dr. a call again--different antibiotics target different things.

On the other hand, you did mention that you had let it go for quite a while....it might just take a little longer to clear it up?

Not an educated guess, just a guess.

Same thing here! It's happened before, and while first they told me to wait, as it may take a couple of weeks, my sore throat started again, so they put me on another anitbio to cover both. Ask for another round of a different one.

I am actually seeing my Dr. today for a follow up and have the same issue - I'll let you know what she says.

My SIL buys some ear oil from the health food store that has mullein and garlic oil in it. She SWEARS by the stuff! I usually put garlic oil in my girls' ears when they have an ear infection. It's amazing how fast that stuff works! I just buy odorless garlic softgels at the pharmacy (or wherever), prick the capsule with a pin, and squeeze 2-3 drops of oil into each ear. I'm betting that in conjunction with the antibiotics will help your ears open up and feel better. I know mullein oil is supposed to be WONDERFUL for ear infections too. Hope you feel better soon! Hugs

Okeee. Went to my Dr. By the way, not like the kids, my antibios take 4 days to kick in.

The Dr. said mine is because I still have drainage and put me on Nasacort spray (RX), plus to take Claritin D to help clear up the ears. My nose isn't stuffy, but the lumpy throat, occasionally sore and plugged ears are from drainage.

Try the Claritin D first, if you want to avoid the Dr. until later, if needed.

Thanks so much. Yes, I was told to wait two more days, but gosh, it sure is driving me crazy.
