Maybe this should go somewhere else but in my apt building we have really bad water. Like I can hardly get dish water to get any suds with any dish soap. My problem is with laundry. Right now I pay $2 to wash and dry and the clothes are not getting clean. The laundromat is better but it is $2.50 just to wash I just can't seem to get any clothes clean. I think I should try new laundry soap. My question is if you ladies could recommend a laundry soap. I can not use Tide becuase of scent allergies and somehow clothes washed in Tide give me a headache when I wear. I guess I just want some ideas since I am almost out of soap and want to try something new.
Thanks!!

What kind of water do you have (hard/soft etc)? I wonder if there is something you could add to the water to make it wash better?

I like Arm & Hammer, it just seems to work really well for me. I also use 1/2 of what they recommend on the box. "Less is more" in my book!

Just a thought....

If you want to try the arm & hammer.....

I wrote to them just to tell them that i thought their detergent was very good and had tried it because it had been recommended from this forum. I got a reply back with a thank you and a coupon for my next purchase for a free box/bottle up to 9.99$.

I had a problem with A&H fading my clothes. All free and clear even seemed to affect my allergies and ds's eczema so I am guessing it had some sort of softener. I've tried everything and I stick with Purex Free and Clear now and I use white vingear in the rinse. It's made by Dial corp and works really well and I pay like $7.00 for 200 oz.

i have very very hard water, and when i wash clothes i add vinegar to the water. it helps to mek it soap up and washes your clothes better. the only other option would be to use a water softener.
