Make sure its on level ground. The one we have now is not on so level ground. We had it filled up to where its suppose to be. One day we came home and about 1/4 to 1/2 of the water was gone.

We believe that since it wasn't level it eventually poured over the lowest side of the pool.

Oh and I also suggest you get a cover for it if it doesn't come with one.

We have been talking about getting one of the bigger ones. I think we will hold off a little longer.

The one piece advice I have - I have a friend who's husband got to close with the weed wacker - yup he put a hole in the thing. All the water drained out and in the morning when they went to fix it some animal had gotten hold of it and shredded all the plastic.

I'm not sure where you live, but those bigger pools must have the pump run some every day or they will become mosquito breeding grounds. We have an inground pool and we have a timer on the pool so it runs a lot. Also - when we were out of town and didn't have it running as much we really got an algae problem. They ran some scary story on those in the news a week ago but it really just amounted to parents not paying as much attention to their kids because they don't consider them to be "real" pools so more kids are drowning in them. Because I have 3 little ones, I keep a safety net on mine. I'm not sure what systems there are for those, but you might check out a pool store to see if they have alarms for those. Also put an alarm on your backdoor. Apparently, the more layers of protection, the better off you are.

we got one this year and love it. it is easy to maintain and make sure it is level. our neighbors who have one put sand down then the ground cloth so they can get theres level. they have had theres for four years and no problems. definately get a solar cover from a pool place the ones they come with degrade in the sun and don't last long. we put our pump on a timer it needs to be ran 4-6 hours everynight so it turns on about 10 and turns off about 4am. also before you pack it away for the next year make sure it is very clean and completely dry so it does not mold...(got that tip from a friend that put hers in a rubbermaid tote damp and had to throw it away!)

Something else to think about if you live in town. I work for the city here and we require you to get a zoning permit and have the pool fenced if it's over 24" tall. Also, make sure that if the pool has a pump/filter, plug the pump into a GFI outlet, otherwise, if the pump would short out, your whole pool becomes a pool of electricity.
