I had thought about that and was going to do it...but.......I was kinda hoping that maybe this time of year they would be scoping out the internet and tried Craigslists in hopes of finding summer work and stuff (I'm lazy...can you tell?)

Don't forget to check their ID and to check the sex offender data base.

I have another thought- (hope you do not mind)

I am not sure if you bought a home where you moved to- but if you used a realtor you may want to ask them if they have any leads on a sitter. I know a good friend who moved to a new state and their realtor had names of some sitters and she found a wonderful gal that way

If you liked the realtor I would take her referral before i put an ad on CL. I mean i love CL but i take a referral any day even if it was her daughter.

It's always a possibility. I am just giving myself options. It's not like I am going to just hire the first person who applies (if they apply). My hope is to see the kind of response I get and then go from there.

We've interviewed for babysitters before. We have to. That is just what we do if we want a life. Then hopefully in time we'll find some couples we can swap with for free but until then it's kinda nice ot just have someone you can trust for a couple hours to watch your kids. The pathetic thing about all of this is that when dh and I do go out we're always home by 9pm at the VERY latest. We typically have dinner with the grey crowd (service is faster, seating is no problem and it's much quieter) and we go out for dessert and then come home. So if I can just find someone that we feel comfortable with to play and entertain the kids for a couple hours, even if it is using Craigslist, I am cool with that because like I said we have a pretty extensive interviewing process.

Okay, I'm a bit paranoid, too, so I want to throw this one out there, too.

If you type your phone number in some search engines, it will give your name and address....even directions to your home. Be careful putting your phone number on a forum like that.

Now I'm worried about you.
