Hi

My ds school is going to be selling their yearbook and they sent a note home where you can have a space to write a special note to your like your child or a favorite teacher or something.

It cost $10. My thoughts are would you do this for your child. I dont want to embaress ds who is almost 9 and in 3rd grade.

If you were to do it ...what would you write. Just like "we are proud of you love..."

Thanks so much....

WoW! A year book for elementary school?!? We had one for Jr. High and High school.

I don't think there is anything wrong with saying how proud you are.

no and I wouldn't but the yearbook either. Sorry. I am having a hard time with middle school year books also. High School yes....maybe that is because of the way I was brought up.

Edit: oops, sorry I thought you were asking if we would pay for that. I was talking to my dd at the same time.

If you really wanted to do that...I would just say Congrats!! And sign it from the whole family. And maybe a picture if you can....that seems to be the common message, when I have looked at other yearbooks. Not sure if the kids are embarressed or not....

I've never heard of an elementary school yearbook. I would probably buy it, especially if it's only $10.

Personally i wouldn't do it. The only time i would do it is if it was his Kindergarten book or if he was leaving elementary to start middle school and then his senior year. Other than that i don't think it's necessary.
It is a nice gesture but at that age i don't think he'll care about it.

The yearbook isn't $10....it's the ad in the book that costs $10. The book is probably closer to $20 if it's anything like our school.

$10 for a message sounds like a lot for an elementary yearbook. I don't believe I would pay that much. Our school charges $11.00 for the book and $1.00 for a short message.
