Which I don't think is a good thing! We have signed up for a mommy and me swim class at the local pool. Last night was our 2nd to last class. There are numerous other groups going on while our class is going so dd saw these older children jumping off the diving board in the deep end and started throwing a major tantrum. She wanted to jump too! So the swim insturctor came over after I got her calmed down and asked what the problem was and dd said she wanted to jump like that, so over we go to the deep end. The instructor waited for her in the water and I followed her on the diving board, which I had to sneak behind her, cuz little Miss Independent wanted to do it herself and in she jumped again and again. She was the talk of the pool. 3 other little girls followed suit, but none had the grace of my child! :yay!:

Wow! That's great. Last summer I couldn't get my then 4 1/2yr old to jump in a pool while wearing a floaty ring without a ton of begging and you can do it talk! Now my 21mo old, he's already proving to be the dare devil of the two, with no fear it seems.

The instructor was a mom, too, huh? Ahhh....things to look forward to. I know it's so normal for the tantrums and fearlessness, but little diva is so full of that at 19 mo. I just know if she gets worse, so will I!!

No the instructor was from the High School swim team, she waited until I had redirected dd and had her doing something else. She knew what she wanted to do, but didn't give in to her tantrum which I thought was great.

That's funny. I can't even get my 5 yo DD to jump off the edge of the pool into the water to me.
