I have never sold anything on Craigslist, usually I use Ebay. But after this last baby is born we are thinking about selling all the baby stuff. I am sure if I take a peak at the site I will get how it works, but my main concern is pick up. Those of you who use it, do you just have the buyers come to your house or do you meet them somewhere? I get nervous about these types of things. Also, do you only take cash?

yes only take cash. Baby stuff sells very well. First off set up a CL account, quick and easy. Make sure you list in the baby/kid section. Price at half of retail if it's in great condition, less if not and don't sell clothes on CL, they don't do well. Ebay is better for clothes. I allow pickup during the evenings and on weekends when my dh is home. I never give my address out unless I have talked to the person over the phone to confirm pickup day/time. Make sure you put in your listings "cash upon local pickup only"

Usually I will set up a location to pick up the items- specify that you will only accept cash (for the most part- i did not do that at first but when coresponding with the people I would specify that it is cash only). There are a few items that I have to have the people come to my house for- and if it is a larger item- specify that they haul- or if you can deliver put in something like "will deliver for a fee".

When I set up my times- it is usually when I don't have to have my youngest with me or on the weeend if I need to run a few errands. BTW- you don't have to post your phone number or anything- they have an email set up if anyone is interested- you will receive their email- they don't get any info until you email them back (they will get the email address). So far I have had no problems, I was able to sell a few clothing lots for between $60-$65 dollars (and they were pretty large lots)- did not bother me as long as they were out of the house! I have noticed that a lot of the outside toys go realy fast (at least most of mine did!).
