I used to have a cat named Smokey years ago but she ran away when my d.s. was just a baby. I was at the supermarket yesterday and there was a picture that looked very much, well exactly like my cat Smokey! I wrote down the phone # but have been too afraid to call for fear I'll burst into tears and make an *ss out of myself. Do I really need a cat in my life now? We have birds. We thought she had disappeared forever! I even had a dream about her last night and not a short dream but a really long one. This is not the first time I've dreamt about her either. What is a former cat owner to do? Plus I don't like talking to strangers. I'm really shy and have an awful voice.

Call! Nothing is sadder than when you find an animal and no one claims them! I know (why do you think I have 4 dogs )

Besides, you don't know if they can keep him or not and may have to take him to the pound! CALL! I hope it's him!!!

There was a computer printed picture of the cat and it said "found cat" with the name of the road it was found. This town is just a town or 2 away from us. I just may get up the courage to call. Oh if it is Smokey it's a she.

I got brave and called and the lady actuallly invited me to come to her house and see the cat. I feel so bad for her because she had back surgery and is homebound for 2 months! She was very friendly. I just may have d.h. drive me over there after work.

Keeping fingers crossed that this is your smokey. If it is her and you were just dreaming about her, you know this was meant to be.

I'm so glad you called. Wouldn't it been great if it was your cat after all this time? Even if its not your cat, maybe could still take it and give it a good home.

I'm glad you called. First, my friend's sister lost her cat - looked everywhere, put up signs, etc. 2 years later she saw a "found cat" ad at the pet store. Sure enough, it was her cat. They were happily reunited. Secondly, you talk to strangers every day & you're doing fine! Your voice is fine! Don't worry about strangers judging you. Third, we found a white female kitten 14years ago. She is our Kimba. But we ran "found cat" ads for her for weeks. We just could not figure out how no one would claim such a beautiful cat. But we did get one call. Even tho the ad said female, all white kitten, this guy called about a male cat, white w/ some other colors, several years old. He'd lost the cat months earlier. He was in tears. Broke my heart. But it was OK. He needed to talk to someone, and I was that someone for 5 minutes, and hopefully it helped him to know that I would keep an eye out for his kitty as well.
