Oh how I love this crappy neighborhood--NOT!!!

This AM, I guess there was some guy waiting behind a business and when a 12 year old boy that gets on at the stop at our house came out of his house this AM to go to the bus-stop, the guy jumped out and tried to grab and take the boy! (The boy is fine--but I am sure he will have "issues" from this--they are renters that live across the street from some other rentals where a lot has happened in the last year and his parents work and leave him home alone every night!)

He ran down the street after him (he got away to a neighbors house) but he was yelling, run boy, run!

The neighbors that saw this guy believe that he went into a house down the street (the brother's family of our crack-dealing neighbor).

Within the last year, we have had a homicide, a swat team showdown that locked us out of our house in the middle of winter for 5 hours, theft, vandalism, and now this---not to mention the crack dealing....

Guess what? This is just a regular street in a mid sized town in the middle of MN- it's not even supposed to be a Ghetto!

Oh I sure can't wait until I get done with school, my hands are so tied because I can't move somewhere safe to protect my family, it really sucks!

That is so scary!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question though...Can't you transfer to another school. I think protecting my family would have to be priority number 1. Big hugs.

YIKES!!! I am so glad that my kids get on the bus at the end of our drive, in the middle of nowhere. I still watch them in the window to make sure they stay safe.

I am glad that the little boy is OK.

Their school is wonderful--it's the neighborhood that is bad. Yeah, we can transfer schools--but like I said, we have no issues with the school, and the kids get on the bus right in front of our house and either DH or I are there when we let the kids out. The boy that almost got taken lives 2 houses down and came out of his house about 5 minutes before my children, so we didn't see it happen, our neighbor lady did though (that's who's house he ran to) and she did call the police and they were in the neighborhood all AM.

Poor kid, he is so shook up!
