Are you irritated? Let it out here!

My mother has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (father too). This means she has a cognitive deficiency that makes her unable to feel empathy; in other words, she cannot put herself in someone else's shoes.*

Here are things that my mother knows and has been told repeatedly:

Daughter and I have perfume sensitivities
I have extremely sensitive skin, some eczema, and have to be very careful what I use on it
Daughter loathes pink, calls it "the P word," and has refused to wear it for a year now
Daughter likes dinosaurs, dragons, bugs, music, sewing, knitting, Halloween, and spooky things

Anyway, mother just sent us a package, which is an extremely rare event. Here is what was in it:

a bottle of vitamins, opened, used, and expired
perfumed soaps and lotions that someone gave her
a new flap book, with the flaps torn off (she read it)
2 cases of scented moisturizer, new, six different scents, $300 worth, she ordered from TV
a pink baseball cap with "Princess" in little studs on the front, but enough studs are missing that you can't really read what it says
an old, used-up lip balm
a paring knife

Anybody want to trade mothers?

*People with Narcissistic Personality Disorder are generally hostile and cruel. They cannot reason well, and don't listen to you when you talk unless you are saying something about them. They can't take other people's feelings into consideration; do not care about others' wishes, needs, or possessions; and don't realize that others will react negatively when abused, used, or lied to (no empathy). They follow certain rules only because of fear of getting caught; their moral level is like that of a five year-old child. They are envious and competitive, contemptuous of others, negative, and complaining, Narcissists live in a fantasy world where they are beautiful, powerful, and perfect. They react negatively to criticism (my parents react violently). They have no sense of humor (again, you need empathy for that), they have a false sense of entitlement, are usually extremely stingy and mean, are prejudice and think everyone is "beneath" them. They give terrible gifts since they don't know or care what you might want, and feel you should be honored if given something that was lying around in their house, then they become haughty if you don't adequately appreciate the gift. Narcissists don't recognize that others have feelings, and don't even recognize their own feelings as belonging to them. They are so out of touch with themselves and others that they think everyone is like this.

WOW! How did you manage to grow in a home like that? I could see if one parent was that way but for a child to have both parents like that ,how on earth did you not growup to be a horrible nasty person?
No I dont want to trade. Sorry about the gift package of useless things.

Tell you what I'll trade you my MIL!!!!!

Someone has to take her or I'm going to throw her in the lake. She is making me absolutely insane and I can't take it anymore. I'm too tired to go into it all right now though. Basically our house is leaking and she has the nerve to tell me that its okay to have the baby there even though all 3 of the back rooms leak and there is mold and etc. Then proceeded to tell me that there couldn't be mold. Ummm WHAT? She just went on this tirade and finally I snapped! I think I made them all mad but frankly I couldn't take it anymore.

So I would gladly trade with anyone.

Typical NPD. I'd just trash it all but the new moisturizers. You can sell them on craigslist or something!

For my baby shower, (her third grandkid, but her first grandson) my mom split the cost of a car seat with someone else. She's doing very well financially. For my last birthday, I got a bottle of shampoo. They did wind up treating us to dinner later, so I just figured that was my real gift.

I'd send the care package back to your mother.

My list of rants:
People talking on their cell phones while driving.
People who run red lights--red means stop a---hole.
People who speed through school zones.
Old people driving who can barely see over the steering wheel.
Parents who refuse to discipline their children. No your child does not have the right to kick my child in anger.
Leanient sentences for people who drive drunk or abuse children.
All the people out there who say they cannot afford their medicine but have money for smokes or booze.
People who abuse the system, collect disability, but dress and eat better then me who is working, paying taxes, so you can collect that disability.
People who don't accept responsiblity for their own actions. Stop blaming everyone else in the world and take a look in the mirror. (that one is directed at BIL)
Ignorant people who think they are better than everyone else.

My rant:

I'm married but I'm pretty much a single parent! My dh makes no effort to be a good dad - he just buries his head in the sand. I can't stand it!!

That's my mom. Last thing we got from her, nothing fit it was old used clothes. Broken things, my kids just cried. I can't handle cigarette smoke and ask her all the time not to smoke around me and kids and she still does. She made oldest dd sick last time she was up. Let her drink as much pop and junk food she could stuff in and she was puking for hours. My mom thought it was funny.
