Just an interesting fact Id like to share. Dh did an acidity test on some vinegar bought at the dollar tree. IT says on the bottle 5% acidic acid, but in his lab test he found it was infact only 3%. He did the test multiple times and got the same result. He then went back and bought two more bottles and repeated the test and they all came back 3%. What does then meen, it meens that the vinegar is watered down. IF they do it to the vinegar what else might they be doing it to? Just something to think about when you think you are getting a good deal.

I also just read an artcle about the dollar tree. Apparently they tested many of the items in the store and they tested very high in lead.

:::GULP!:::

I shop there quite often! Once and a while I buy the food, but most of the time I go in there for the tights and hair stuff for my girls.

Honestly, for $1 do you expect high quality? I mean, everything they sell is only $1, I guess I just don't have such high expectations of such a store. I shop there, but I just don't expect the quality I'd get at places I'd pay much more. But for crayons, gift bags, cards, cheap little toys, and things like that, it's a great deal and not a big deal if it's not high quality merchandise. JMO.

I have never bought vinegar from the dollar store. I buy name brand stuff or stuff I know can be trusted. Some stuff I've bought hair stuff like elastics, Dawn dish soap, Lever 2000 bars of soap, various cleaners, cat litter,cheap silverware, brown paper bags and sandwich baggies just to name a few. How could we check the mercury level? That would be awful to bring Mercury into the house.

That is correct , I dont expect the same quality but I do expect an accurat label. To tell me something is 5% when it is only 3% is not right. If the label said 3% it wouldnt change weither or not I bought it . I just want to knwo what I buying.

I have heard that their plates/cups/bowls/etc....are high in lead and should not be used in the microwave, dishwasher, to eat off of... LOL

Most of the other stuff I buy there is scrapbook stuff (no problems yet) and paper products (again, ok).
