Isn't it amazing how a case of independence turns an otherwise sweet and angelic child into the devil himself? One could almost compare the ages to that of a person with a split personality. Man I remember days I hated to take my kids anywhere at that age b/c you never knew when the "monster" would rear its ugly little head. My experience, my boys were worse than my girls.

But hang in there. This too shall pass. For every 2 and 3 year old will some day become a brain dead teenager and the fun will begin again.

For me, there isn't much difference in behavior between my 16, 13 , and 3 year olds. I think the only sane one at this time is my 10 yo, (well at least she is saner than me at this point) but experience tells me it won't last much longer.

Wyatt will be three on Aug 18th. His first 2.5 years was soooooooooo easy. Than all of a sudden BAM!!!!! He tells me no, he has temper tantrums...etc etc....So yes i'm experiencing the same exact thing.

Ok, you have all officially scared me!!! My DD is already VERY strong willed, She gets her mind set on something and she will kick - scream - pull hair - bite...anything to get her way.

And...wow...if it gets worse - I don't know what I'll do.

oh yeah.... we are soooo there. today or yesterday was dd3, third bday and she spent a great deal of time on the naughty bench. lately in our 100 degree weather has insisted on wearing socks. the other night she woke up and wanted chips? I think she was dreaming of eating them b4 she woke up. she cried for 20 min she wanted chips. I had started to refer to her as boss of the world.

treston hit 18months and he just turned into the worst little terror. I do remember with my own kids my mother used to say the terrible tws, try-some threes and the fearsome fours. I know with one of my kids she was really right. Hang in there this too shall pass.

My DD just turned 3 yesterday, but she's been behaving like a little monster for the last comple of months. I'm seriously thinking she's possessed. The so-called terrible 2's were easy compared to this. Everyone talks about the terrible 2's. Nobody ever talked about the terrible 3's. All I have to do is look at her the wrong way and she starts crying, and the tantrums...OMGOSH....and in public no less. She does this Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde thing. I don't know what to do. I have to keep reminding myself, "DD is a child of God." And I have to keep saying over and over and over again.

Three is definitely worse because dd has such an attitude. She loves to be bossy and tell us what to do and she is definitely in the independent stage.
