Just wondering. Has anyone else experienced the evil 3s?

My sweet little Nicholas, who has never been anything but pure joy, is turning into his evil twin. He's turning 3 in a few weeks and I guess since we made it through the terrible twos unscathed I'm in for it now. He's starting to throw major tantrums and be ULTRA particular about how we do things. Like for instance, when I open a door for him, he could throw himself down on the ground screaming, "I WANNA DO IT!!!" endlessly until he had forgotten about what he wanted to do in the first place.

And, to top it off, this afternoon we were in Barnes and Noble peeking around and I heard him say to his sister from one aisle over, "I GONNA FART!" really loudly. I'm so proud of my lovely family.

Lord, give me patience!!

Yes they do!!!

I always warn people that 3 is WAY worse then 2!!! Not that they are any "worse" it's just that they know how to verbalize what they want and make sure EVERYONE knows what it is!

Oh and my girls now say they have to fluff instead of fart...it is too cute to hear a 2 year old say "Excuse me I Fluffed"(oh and did I mention she has a lisp too?)

My Zach was the same way until a few weeks before his 3rd birthday too. In my limited experience, this sounds very normal.

In addition to that, when Zach was approaching his second birthday, most of my friends said that the THIRD year was worst than that supposed TERRIBLE TWOS. I tend to agree with them. For me it's been the TERRIFIC TWOS and the TERRIBLE THREES

Mine turned evil at 19 months, about the time her brother arrived! My daughter also announces when she farts, and also calls her poop a stinkbomb, and likes to tell people she has a stinkbomb in her pants, lovely!

Why is potty humour so hilarious to little kids? My gosh, my kids could laugh over poop and fart jokes all afternoon. At least they found something they could bond over.

Yes, but in my experience it was a short phase....wait until he learns how to make 'fart sounds' with his armpit...Oh it amuses my kids for hours.

My best friend SWEARS her DS was just a 'brat' in his odd years...starting at 3...he'll be 7 this year and she's due with a new baby...can't wait to see what he does this year

At least it is only your kids...my dh is just as bad! If they could use potty humor in ever conversation and get away with it(because believe me they try) you would see the happiest family ever...without me!!!
