I'm not talking about your dh or significant other. Thats a given in most instances. But Im talking about a best friend that you love dearly, would do anything for, can tell anything to.. all that good stuff?

Growing up I always had one. Then as I transitioned into motherhood there were a few years that I didnt really have one because all of my single friends were.. well.. single.. and we all know how that goes. Then I started getting into local mommy groups and a while later met Melissa.

The funny thing is.. when we met at a picnic in the park we both thought the other was a complete b*tch. But once we got to know each other... we became fast friends. And now are BEST friends. We have SO much in common. From how we were raised, to parenting, our personalites. All of our kids are around the same ages.. so they are BFF's. Even our husbands get along!!! Its awesome.

I have to admit.. that I have some prettttty great friends on mommysavers too. At least 6 that I think I will always be friends with... even if we never meet! (but I know Im meeting LeXi's Mom FO SHO next July!! YAY!!!)

So... do you have a BEST friend???

I'm still very close with my childhood best friend, although she lives in another state. We still talk on the phone all the time, email and get together as much as possible.

As far as locally, I do have a best friend and we're part of a very close group of friends, about six of us. I love my friends, I would do anything for them!

We have a small group like that too. Ive been in a lot of local groups and it seems there is always one person that I end up liking a lot. And we've all kinda migrated from group to group together.. and pick up a new friend here and there. Its pretty cool having A LOT of friends... but having a small circle is awesome.

I have about four or five very close friends. Y'know, the kind I could call and ask to help whenever, I could tell anything, or who know me REALLY well and still like me. One of them I've known since childhood and the others I've gotten to know since I moved here about 7 years ago.

Sometimes I wish it were just one person, one BFF. However, it's also nice not to have all your eggs in one basket so to speak. I think we all grow and change, and at different times in my life I've been closer to each of them for different reasons. It's all good!

I can't wait!! The office girls think I'm one dedicated stamper to go all the way to TX. It's a mini vacation and I get to meet Ember!! I may never be the same!

I do and I don't have a best friend now, at times I can't stand her and the choices she makes with her life and her childrens' lives, then there are the times when she hasn't called me in a couple of days and wonder what's up. She has been through some pretty rough times her exhusband was killed in a car accident and she was left with 2 children. She fell in love with one of my dh's friends shortly after that (her and her dh were seperated at the time, but it was still very hard for her) and we have been bf since.

yes, i do. we've been together since high school. she lives in connecticut and i live in ohio and months go by where we have no contact and when we talk again it's like there has been no lapse. but no one knows me better--we can almost hear each other think from afar...she knows when i need her and vice versa.

No. I had a BFF growing up and we went on to college together but I left and moved out of state, got married and had kids while she stayed in college and got her masters and just married last year. We started living totally different lives and it's like we don't understand eachother anymore. SHe soo wrapped up in her career and I, in motherhood. We do talk and email since we are in different states and we get together when I go home sometimes but it's definitely not the same.
Now I have been in Texas for five years and have been in 3 different mom's groups trying to meet people but I really only have 1 true friend here. I don't know why I can't seem to meet people.

She is closer to me than my sister. We used to live across the street from each other and our husbands called us Lucy and Ethel. Three years ago I had to move to Austin for my husbands job and then we split up, but I can't move back now because of the divorce settlement. I wish every day that I could still live across the street from her. We call each other every day and talk for at least half an hour. Yes, I have unlimited long distance. Our four kids are all the exact same ages, so they are best friends also. She just had baby number five and she had to do it without me for the first time. It has been a hard three years being apart, she had three miscarriages and I got divorced and started dating. We travel to see each other all the time, but it still isn't enough for either one of us. Ember, she lives in Fort Worth, so I could loan her out to you if you need a terrific friend that you don't mind sharing.

I have had the same best friend for 21 yrs.(I am 32)We still talk on the phone daily, visit, buy each other gifts and so on.It is so cool because we had so much fun when we were younger and we remember all the good times we had before children and marriage. And since have been there for each other through children, marriages, divorces, gripe sessions, etc. We always say we are each others personal counselors.
